Overall the June backlog drive was a success, reducing the last 3,000 or so to below 500. *Probationary permissions: Now that PERM has been configured to allow expiry dates to all minor user rights, new NPR flag holders may sometimes be limited in the first instance to 6 months during which their work will be assessed for both quality and quantity of their reviews. This will allow admins to accord the right in borderline cases rather than make a flat out rejection.
*Current reviewers who have had the flag for longer than 6 months but have not used the permissions since they were granted will have the flag removed, but may still request to have it granted again in the future, subject to the same probationary period, if they wish to become an active reviewer.

Hi! I would like to dispute your recent rejection of the AfC draft for Roger Bright. You claimed he does not fill Misplaced Pages's notability requirements for musicians, however he fulfills the following requirements as I explain in the brackets following the requirement:
== Habitas entry declined ==

# Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are ], not ], and are ] the musician or ensemble itself
Hi Hitro,
# Has released two or more albums on a ] or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable) ], an important independent record label]
# Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles ], ], and ], all of whom are independently notable musicians]
# Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city ] and of polka music in New Glarus]
# Has won first, second, or third place in a major music competition
# Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album ], the ], and the ] Show, among others]

I was hoping to get a little more feedback on the entry for Habitas you declined earlier. I understand your argument, and I have made some changes to adjust but I feel stuck. I would love to be fully compliant with protocol here and would appreciate any pointers you could provide to make this submission work.

A musician is notable for Misplaced Pages if they meet at least one of those requirements, and Roger Bright meets six. I resubmitted my article, so I hope you take the chance to reassess your decision. Thanks! ] (]) 16:47, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

First of all thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. I see you are the editor of UFC Bantamweight Garrett Armfield's draft. I have edited the draft and added references to the text which was originally written by the fighter himself. I have had issues with his last fight: I added it, but the row was added horizontally instead of vertically.

Thank you for the guidance. I will do my best to keep it completely neutral.

If you'd be so kind as to help me with it, I would really appreciate it, and I am sure Garrett Armfield (who is aware of my effort to get his Misplaced Pages article up) would be, too.
:Hi again {{ping|HitroMilanese}},

Hello, I am trying to get further guidance on the feedback that you provided about this page. You state that the draft doesn't reference good sources and that the tone/pov are not correct. I'm not sure what to do with that. Hi, sir. The main reason for creating this page is recognition. Thank you for taking the time to review this article. I am just not understanding how to meet the "significant coverage" bar here. Johnny's works have been reviewed in quite a few online and paper magazines (https://johnnyrayjones.com/press). There are 37 links to verifyable reviews of his past three CD releases. They are all independant sources, though most of them are small publishers (blues magazines or blues music related websites). They are all secondardy and independant. Should I just link to that press page in the article as a reference? Or are those kinds of music reviews just not meeting the bar for "significant coverage"? It just seems odd that some of the musicians that played on his albums have very short wikipedia pages with no CDs of their own released, only "appeared on" credits, but not the main guy. I feel like I'm missing something or just did something wrong in the way I wrote the article, I'm not very experienced with wikipedia biography authoring.

I'm sorry for not responding to your message on my talk page. Initially, the message does appear like a warning or an advice, and I didn't know it would result in moving the page to draft. In such cases, for example, you wrote "Did you observe that the subject is also the article’s author? Personally, I would have declined it and requested additional references. Hiya. I totally get why you'd move the article to draft, but it's part of a bigger and more frustrating conversation. Back in 2008, a user added pages to the UAE's emirates with place names sourced from a 1987 US gazetteer. I've been working on tidying Sharjah, Dubai and now Ajman. It's no surprise most of these are cruft, but they all got published as non-sourced pages of one line each, typically "x is a city in the UAE". Most aren't even places at all. The ONE missing place, which shows up on the Ajman infobox as having no link, was Sayh Mudayrah. I've AfDed many of the worst offenders and am now defending the AfD actions against users who want to KEEP the one line unsourced cruft places. I've added a one line, unsourced GOOD place and you've plonked it into the draft space. Nobody is going to write about Sayh Mudayrah, it's a small mountain community. Yet it remains a place in Ajman... My frustration, not yours, but I thought I'd vent anyway. Best ] (]) 09:01, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Hi there,

== Request to review Page Devendra Kothe ==
Thank you for reviewing the Mahanidhi Swami article. I have added two paragraphs including two sources: footnotes 6 and 9: an interview with The Baltimore Sun (newspaper) and an excerpt from a book that studies the Hare Krishna movement. As the subject (Mahanidhi Swami) does not travel from the village in which he lives, he might not attract so much publicity from different sources. Nevertheless, his influence and the importance of his contribution through his books and lectures made him one of the authorities for those interested in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. This can be proven by the book sales, the traffic on his website and views on SoundCloud.

Hello Moderator,
What do you think? Do you have more tips for improving the article?

Thank you for taking the time to review my draft submission. I understand that the initial version appeared more promotional than encyclopedic, and I have since worked on revising the content to align with Misplaced Pages's guidelines.
Hi,
I've added some references to ] and submitted it for review as a stub. Hopefully this is enough, as otherwise I'm afraid Misplaced Pages's barrier for contribution of new water-infrastructure-related stubs is too high for me to contribute, and I would hesitate to encourage others given the amount of effort involved just to get a stub for a missing topic. - ] (]) 14:05, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

Why was this page declined

Hi @HitroMilanese Could you please drop an email as to why this page has been declined as all the relevant fields have been put up as per the existing rules of Misplaced Pages SSChhetri (talk) 09:30, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

@SSChhetri
Hi there,
Unfortunately, your article has been declined for several reasons.
Firstly, the subject of your article does not meet Misplaced Pages's notability guidelines. For inclusion, subjects must satisfy the criteria outlined in the general notability guideline and the specific notability guideline for authors WP:NAUTHOR. Please review these guidelines carefully.
Secondly, a significant portion of the draft lacks proper sourcing. To demonstrate notability and ensure verifiability, it is essential to include references from independent and reliable sources. You also need to see WP:REFBEG for placing your citations properly at the end of sentences.
Additionally, it appears that the article may be an autobiography. Autobiographies are generally discouraged on Misplaced Pages because maintaining neutrality and verifiability is challenging, and there are numerous potential issues associated with self-written entries.
I hope this explanation clarifies the reasons for the decline. Regards. Hitro talk 18:10, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

PAR Technology Draft AfC

Hi there, thank you for reviewing my first Misplaced Pages article submission!

For some background/context, I had initially tabled my suggestion to the Deletion review folks here who seemed open to having a draft submitted: https://en.wikipedia.org/Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2024_June_13

I understood that my article may have read more like an advertisement. I had tried to be as simple and objective as possible with my language, and to cite reputable independent sources for my content to demonstrate notability. Any feedback would be welcomed on which parts may have sounded like an ad. Maybe I missed the mark being too detailed to try and showcase notability? Happy to delete and edit it as necessary. LeLiPAR (talk) 20:41, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

Hello there,
The version of the draft that I declined was promotional. I see that CSD has been declined after your improvement. I am not fully convinced that it is meeting WP:NCOMPANY therefore I will leave this draft for a fresh pair of eyes. Regards. Hitro talk 17:47, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Hi please send your review comments about why you rejected my article main page "Muthamilselvi" First tamil woman scaled mount everest. TheValorWomanMTS (talk) 11:24, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Hello there,
Firstly, it appears that you have either written an autobiography or have a significant conflict of interest (COI) with the subject. COI editing is discouraged on Misplaced Pages. I have left a message on your talk page regarding COI; please read it along with the associated links. Drafts with potential COI must go through the Articles for Creation (AfC) process.
Secondly, many of the claims in your draft lack proper sourcing. Please refer to Misplaced Pages's verifiability policy and support your statements with citations from independent and reliable sources. Additionally, see the guidelines on inline citations and ensure that citations are placed correctly at the end of the relevant sentences, rather than clustered at the bottom of the draft.
I would like to note that the notability of the subject has not been challenged. The primary issue is the lack of references. Please address these concerns and resubmit your draft for another review.

AfC dispute: Roger Bright

Hi! I would like to dispute your recent rejection of the AfC draft for Roger Bright. You claimed he does not fill Misplaced Pages's notability requirements for musicians, however he fulfills the following requirements as I explain in the brackets following the requirement:

  1. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself
  2. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable)
  3. Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles
  4. Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city
  5. Has won first, second, or third place in a major music competition
  6. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album

A musician is notable for Misplaced Pages if they meet at least one of those requirements, and Roger Bright meets six. I resubmitted my article, so I hope you take the chance to reassess your decision. Thanks! Zhuvelo (talk) 16:47, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

I have edited the draft and added references to the text which was originally written by the fighter himself. I have had issues with his last fight: I added it, but the row was added horizontally instead of vertically.

If you'd be so kind as to help me with it, I would really appreciate it, and I am sure Garrett Armfield (who is aware of my effort to get his Misplaced Pages article up) would be, too.

Thanks LongTimeLurkerFirstTimeUser (talk) 17:45, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Reason for creating page

Hi, sir. The main reason for creating this page is recognition. That actor voiced the characters of the most popular Indian produced animation tv series which ran for more than 5 years including films. While searching the internet for his interviews and articles, I found that there is photo of another Bengali actor with same name, instead of this comedian in the Motu Patlu cast and crew page. That is a big mistake people will think that Bengali actor's contribution while the real one is unkown. So I am still searching for official sites mentioning his works and similar things to make his Misplaced Pages page approved. Menarie221 (talk) 05:45, 20 October 2024 (UTC)

Draft:Frederic Kimball

Hello Why do you say my sources are not reliable, it is all in an article from Variety, a well known cinema publication. I did put the reference under Frankybonesmister (talk) 14:31, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

Hello there,
Large portion of the submission still appears unsourced. Please see WP:REFBEG and place your citations properly so that the claims can be verified. In order to demonstrate notability, it is also recommended to add multiple sources where the topic has received significant coverage. Regards. Hitro talk 14:38, 28 October 2024 (UTC)

{{SAFESUBST:Void|

Esassaman (talk) 20:09, 2 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello there,
The draft contains a total of 14 sources, and apart from Allmusic, none appear reliable by Misplaced Pages standards. The two Allmusic sources are merely listings without album reviews (excluding user-generated content). You may want to highlight the top three sources on the draft's talk page where the subject has received significant coverage for reviewers to consider before making a decision. Given the current state, it doesn't seem the subject meets WP:NSINGER or WP:GNG. However, I’ll leave it for fresh eyes if you choose to resubmit. Regards. Hitro talk 13:53, 3 November 2024 (UTC)

Robertson draft

Hi @HitroMilanese,

I'm sorry for not responding to your message on my talk page. Initially, the message does appear like a warning or an advice, and I didn't know it would result in moving the page to draft. In such cases, for example, you wrote "Did you observe that the subject is also the article’s author? Personally, I would have declined it and requested additional references. Please be mindful of your Schumacher's level velocity, as it may not be beneficial to the project. Regards", and I think that the question is somewhat off since I accessed all the sources. Personal thinking may not be the scope of the encyclopedia, and per AFC, we should try as much as possible to help new editors. Belive me, its rare to see new editors wrote write so well like that one. I loved the draft and did a WP:BEFORE (incase of AFD) before accepting, and subsequently tagging. I respect you so much and would always love to see more encouragement from you. If you still object the mainspace moving, then WP:AFD. Cheers! Safari Scribe 00:05, 4 November 2024 (UTC)

@SafariScribe
Hello there,
Firstly, instead of involving a third party, if you had discussed it with me, we could have resolved the issue in a much better way. Redraftifying was not as wrong as it was made to appear. It is a part of an essay not a policy or guideline.
Secondly, Misplaced Pages:Before exclusively deals with AfDs. It is out of scope of my understanding why do people bring it in discussions outside at AfDs. There is Misplaced Pages:BURDEN which is part of the Misplaced Pages's core policy. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material. So when I questioned the sourcing, it was your responsibility to demonstrate notability and refute my claims because you restored the material—not mine to take it to AfD and waste the community's time, specially when we are dealing with AfC drafts. If what is written in the submission meets the notability guidelines, but the submission lacks references to evidence this, then the underlying issue is inadequate verification and the submission should be declined for that reason. You can not and should not bring Misplaced Pages:Before or Misplaced Pages:NEXIST while accepting or declining drafts. I might have been wrong in assessing the sources, but one of the reference from 7 was authored by the subject, one was Misplaced Pages:PRIMARY from ESSTS website. Unless, I have fixed the sourcing and demonstrated the notability clearly myself, I would not have accepted it. You might have different view which we could have discussed.
I know it is rare for new editors to write so well; at the same time, I am also aware of how well COI or paid editors write using disposable new accounts. I hope there is no disagreement on this fact.
I do understand that you are doing good for the project which is most important. At the end of the day, it is your overall work that matters not these small disputes. Have a wonderful day ahead. Regards. Hitro talk 08:14, 5 November 2024 (UTC)

Draft:Sherlock & Co.(podcast)

What are reliable sources for media such as this, please elaborate. @HitroMilanese Arc1210 (talk) 10:56, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Hi there,
Any reputable media outlet where this podcast has been reviewed would be a good start, such as The Guardian, The Independent, New Statesman etc. IMDb is not a reliable source as it is user generated. You may check WP:RSPS for list of some reliable as well as unreliable sources. You may also check the articles in Category:British podcasts to understand what sort of sourcing is acceptable. Regards. Hitro talk 11:35, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
I got one, but how is this to be used for the credulity of the podcast? and how do I get poster/logo of the podcast without © issues as Wikimedia doesn't have a fair use option Arc1210 (talk) 11:41, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
@Arc1210
I am unable to read the article currently because my subscription to The Times has expired. However, it seems that this article discusses the podcast significantly.
Please refer to WP:UPI for instructions related to the Misplaced Pages image uploading process. Regards. Hitro talk 08:59, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
so, I just cite it would that do? Arc1210 (talk) 09:28, 15 November 2024 (UTC)

Request on 14:44:51, 17 November 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by Krishna.cell

Hello Hitro,

Thank you for reaching out and providing guidance regarding the article draft process. I appreciate the suggestions to visit the Articles for Creation help desk and the Teahouse for further assistance.

This article represents a new concept or thought, and I’m unsure how to navigate the approval process effectively. I’d greatly appreciate any clarification or help in getting it approved. Since this is an initial idea, I’m open to refining and improving it based on feedback.

Thank you for your time and support! Krishna.cell (talk) 14:44, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

@Krishna.cell
Hi there,
On Misplaced Pages, only articles about notable topics are accepted in the mainspace. To demonstrate notability, it is important to include references from multiple independent and reliable sources that provide significant coverage of the topic. This requirement is explained in Misplaced Pages's general notability guideline. I recommend reviewing the guideline and ensuring the topic's notability is established before proceeding. I also suggest you to check WP:YFA to understand how to create your first article. Regards. Hitro talk 16:11, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

Hunts Point Express

Hi, I'm puzzled by your remark in rejecting this post that the articles cited make only passing reference to the subject. The 1100-Word NYT article cited in footnote 1 is entirely about The Hunts Point Express, its reporters and editor. Moreover, the article is similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/Mott_Haven_Herald which has been on Misplaced Pages for years. The other citations concern the editors of the publication. I'd appreciate an explanation to help me improve the article. Adamsguy (talk) 19:27, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello there,
I have commented on draft regarding this topic.
Regarding the existence of similar articles, I would like to note that plenty of articles exist that probably should not. Equally, because articles must wait for someone who is interested in the subject to notice they are missing before they are created, a lot of articles do not exist that probably should. So just pointing out that an article on a similar subject exists does not prove that the article in question should also exist; it is quite possible that the other article should also be deleted but nobody has noticed it and listed it for deletion yet. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hi there,
It seems that another reviewer has already examined this and requested a merge. Appropriate action will be taken soon. Regards. Hitro talk 15:21, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi Hitro,
Thank you for reverting.
In case you find the time to read,
The new page Devendra Rajesh Kothe(which is duplicate of Devendra Kothe created on 20-November-2024) is created at later date, that's today 25th-Nov-2024.
For the duplicate page, Misplaced Pages says:
Duplicate: There are two or more pages on exactly the same subject, with the same scope.
If a duplicate article was recently created, it may also be a candidate for speedy deletion under CSD A10 criteria.
WP:MERGEREASON
WP:OVERLAP
WP:DUP
Requesting your attention. Mohit Gandmal (talk) 15:26, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
A10 applies only when both articles are in the mainspace. In this case, since one of them is in the draftspace, merging the draft into the mainspace article seems to be the most appropriate course of action. Regards. Hitro talk 15:39, 25 November 2024 (UTC)

Inquiry About Feedback on Draft Submission

Dear HitroMilanese,

Thank you for taking the time to review my draft submission. I understand that the initial version appeared more promotional than encyclopedic, and I have since worked on revising the content to align with Misplaced Pages's guidelines.

Selsmart by Attero is a notable initiative addressing the growing challenge of e-waste recycling in India. I believe this platform holds significant value in terms of environmental impact and technological innovation. I have ensured that the revised content includes reliable third-party sources and is presented in a neutral tone.

I would greatly appreciate any further feedback or guidance to ensure compliance with Misplaced Pages's policies. Please let me know if additional adjustments are necessary for resubmission.

None of your presented sources appear reliable. This will not be accepted in this kind of sourcing. Please see WP:GNG and demonstrate notability accordingly. Facebook and Instagram are not considered reliable sources so avoid them. Regards. Hitro talk 18:21, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
