== Fisheaters.com == | |||
Thanks for the heads-up about what's going on on the Blacklist page. I don't get this, though. I don't understand why they have it in for the Fisheaters website. It's the only traditional site like it on the itnernet, it's been around forever, it gets used by priests, gets used in RCIA classes, has been cited in books. Something isn't right here. Will you go to the Whitelist page and argue for an unblocking? The URL is: https://en.wikipedia.org/MediaWiki_talk:Spam-whitelist#Fisheaters.com_.28One_Page.29_-_One_Article:_Entry_.22Traditional_Catholicism.22 Thanks! ] (]) 11:34, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, Evrik. Something really shaky is going on. Check this out: the woman who runs Fisheaters says this about her site and Misplaced Pages: go to Fisheaters.com/wikipedia2.html And now Chabad has 2,118 links from Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Special:LinkSearch&limit=500&offset=2000&target=http%3A%2F%2F*.Chabad.org Why would they allow 2,118 links from Chabad but not one from a traditional Catholic website, and that because they say it "spammed" Wiki (when, if what the Fisheaters lady is saying is true, there were no rules against adding links to your own website!)? Does Misplaced Pages have a serious Catholic problem? It seems that way, and I'm starting to get angry about it. I don't know if you're Catholic or not or whether you have a dog in this fight, but even if you're not and you don't, simple fairness demands something be done about this.
This is kind of scary if you stop and think about it. Misplaced Pages is the biggest thing on the internet, the first thing people see if they use Google to search for '''anything''', and it seems to be very anti-Catholic and very pro-Hassidic. This makes me want to see how Israel-Palestine entries are handled. ] (]) 13:37, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

So as to avoid an edit war on this article, let's discuss it here or on the article's talk page. I cannot find mention of hypocrisy for this proverb/idiom in standard reference works: Brewer, Roget, Oxford Dictionary of Proverbs. Looking up hypocrisy, I find it listed in Roget under "deception" with reference to different idioms: a wolf in sheep's clothing and a whited sepulchre. There is a different between ''pretending'' to be what one is not and ''accusing'' someone of the very faults that one possesses. From the point of view of format, discussion of psychological projection and any alternative meaning properly belongs in the body of the article, not the lede. The burden of proof rests on you and requires a scholarly reference, not the sort of opinion piece you have supplied. ] (]) 06:56, 26 September 2019 (UTC)

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme '''Around the World in 31 Days'''! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least '''31 countries''' (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

Speedy deletion nomination of Beach Bunny Swimwear
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Beach Bunny Swimwear requesting that it be speedily deleted from Misplaced Pages. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Misplaced Pages's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Talpatra (talk) 14:59, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

WHAT THE FUCK!!!
How dare you convert an article (Lotus throne) to the appalling sfn style, in total breach of WP:CITEVAR, without leaving any hint of of what you are doing in edit summaries. This is seriously bad behaviour, & you should be blocked. Johnbod (talk) 16:54, 12 January 2020 (UTC)
- Johnbod, I suggest you read up on WP:NPA. Your messages here and elsewhere are troubling; from what I can tel Evrik did what they felt was best for the article, which is perfectly acceptable. That you don't like it is not reason to insult them and threaten them with a block (which no admin would even consider anyway). Primefac (talk) 10:54, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- I'm also puzzled as to what's so "appalling" about {{sfn}}. It gives linkage from the cites to the refs, for one thing. If you object to the use of years, then that's {{sfnp}} anyway, not {{sfn}}. Andy Dingley (talk) 20:35, 13 January 2020 (UTC)
- Please refrain from vulgarity in the future, this is a bit rude and also not an effective way to express oneself. It is not nice to open a web page and see this kind of verbiage. Thanks for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. Keep up the good work!! 172.250.237.36 (talk) 09:16, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

Your submission at Articles for creation: Camp Lambec (June 29)
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Missvain was: This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources. Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified. If you need help with referencing, please see Referencing for beginners and Citing sources. The comment the reviewer left was: Hello. Unfortunately the sourcing here is mainly primary, associated with the subject (published by the Presbyterian church) or merely mentions Camp Lambec.Until books, magazine articles, newspaper articles, television coverage, or radio features focus primarily on Camp Lambec, or it becomes listed on the National Register or the state register of historic places, at this time, this subject does not qualify for a Misplaced Pages article.
I hope you'll consider contributing to and improving content about existing Presbyterian church or park-related subjects on Misplaced Pages.
If you have any questions, please ask at WP:TEAHOUSE. Thank you! Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. - Hi Evrik, I've removed much of the POV and promotional text but there's probably some remaining. I also note the article relies too much on Scouting sources, which are considered primary. Hello Evrik:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in June 2024!
Running from June 1 to 30, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Going Back in Time! We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 20 centuries by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

- Pinging User:Left guide for their thoughts. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 15:20, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
- I can't and won't speak for Guerillero, and I have not reviewed the CU data, but if those edits were reverted purely on the grounds of WP:SOCKSTRIKE, I would suggest that the reverts were not appropriate. SOCKSTRIKE is about clearing up after the sock of an already blocked account - in essence, undoing edits that should never have been made. Whatever it is that Evrik has done that warranted a temporary block, it does not affect edits they made prior to the block being imposed; I would ask Left guide to reinstate those edits if there was not another reason for reverting them (certainly none was given in the edit summary). Orphaned non-free image File:Alameda Council CSP.png
Thanks for uploading File:Alameda Council CSP.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Misplaced Pages under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Misplaced Pages. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Women in Green's "Around the World in 31 Days" GA Editathon – October 2024
Hello Evrik:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Proposed deletion of List of streets in the San Gabriel Valley
The article List of streets in the San Gabriel Valley has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
the content is that of a navigation box or category page, not an article
While all constructive contributions to Misplaced Pages are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Inquiry About Adding Camp Minsi to the Historically Notable Scout Camps Page
Hi Evrik,
I’m the historian for Camp Minsi, a Scout camp in Pennsylvania, and I’d like to add it (or have it added) to the "Oldest Boy Scout Camps of the BSA" section of the Historically Notable Scout Camps page. However, I want to make sure it qualifies before making any changes. Are you the page owner?
Camp Minsi has a long history but has moved locations a couple of times:
Founded in 1919: Camp Minsi was originally established along the banks of the Delaware River at the Delaware Water Gap.
First Move (1927): The original property was sold to another Scout council, forcing the camp to relocate to Lake Tobyhanna in the Poconos.
Second Move (1949): The Lake Tobyhanna property was also sold. However, the owner donated another piece of land at Lake Stillwater, also in the Poconos. The camp opened on that site in 1950, initially on the southern shore of the lake.
Current Facility (1957): The council raised funds to build the permanent camp facilities on the same property, which remain in use today.
Despite these moves, the camp has always been operated by the same council, with the same staff, and served the same Scouts throughout its history. While the land we occupy now has been in use since 1950, Camp Minsi was founded in 1919 and has maintained continuous operation.
Given this history, does Camp Minsi qualify for inclusion on the list? I’d appreciate your thoughts or guidance before proceeding.
Thank you! Tbroke72 (talk) 22:07, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

2025 Update from Women in Green
Hello Evrik:
2024 has wrapped up, and what a full year it was for WikiProject Women in Green! Over the past year, we hosted two edit-a-thons, one themed around women's history and another on women around the world. We also managed to achieve most of our 2024 annual goals, nominating 75 articles for GA, reviewing 64 GA nominations, nominating 8 articles for FAC, peer reviewing 3 articles and reviewing 10 FAC nominations. Excellent work, and thank you to everyone involved!
For 2025 we have a new set of goals for nominations and reviews. In particular, we would like to see more articles on our Hot 100 list being improved and nominated for GA this year. If you take a look at the list and see an article you are interested in contributing to, feel free to add it and yourself to our Hot 100 project discussion. You might even find someone interested in collaborating with you!
This year, as with every year, we hope you will join us in helping improve our coverage of women and women's works on this encyclopedia. Every contribution helps. We'll see you around!
