SpeedSafe mechanism

Sam, why not contribute to this article rather than hack it to pieces, you seem to have some knowledge in this area? The object is to grow and enrich Misplaced Pages, not destroy it or reduce it to stubs. --Mike Searson 14:17, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Also, I think it is a very bad idea to use this encyclopedia to promulgate Ken Onion as the true inventor of what is now called the SpeedSafe mechanism. Wiser to remember the old saw about letting sleeping dogs lie. Sam 07:36, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

That's a splash page for the Kershaw Knives site, I see nothing about Mr Collins and the speedsafe there. Provide a source that Mr Collins invented the Speedsafe. According to those print articles, Ken invented the Speedsafe. Are you threataning me with the sleeping dogs lie comment? Again, I don't understand this hostility. This article started because of another article about assissted opening. From the information I have at my disposal, Mr Onion invented the speedsafe mechanism while fixing a part on a motorcycle. I'll tell you what it's not. It's not the place to slander people. I'm willing to call this whole stupid thing off if you are. Did I inadvertantly offend you somehow? I don't get the vitriol you have, the venom. Have you confused me with someone else?
