Hello Park3r, I was wondering why you have consistently prevented renamed South African cities from being moved for years. You seem very attached to pre-apartheid names and only seem to take into account white South Africans when deciding what is and isn't a "common name". Sources for every single town/city you have prevented moving support the fact that these towns/cities are renamed. I am deeply concerned that there may be a racial bias in your editing but I wanted to approach you about it before I did anything. Is there any reason in particular you have done this? Even towns that were renamed over a decade ago in 2006 like ] you have prevented from being moved to a new page despite widespread adoption of the new name. You have also spoken against African news sources for being "untrustworthy" without saying why they are untrustworthy. If you could please expand on that I would appreciate it. I have not heard many black South Africans say that they want to embrace the apartheid-era names. — Preceding ] comment added by ] (] • ]) 02:16, 27 November 2021 (UTC) |

:I renamed Warmbaths to ] and undertook a number of additional renamings. I also engaged in an attempt to get Bloemfontein removed as "judicial capital" as it is no longer valid under the South African Constitition, and was stymied by editors who were attached to that notion, presumably because of nostalgia. I edited South African Farm Attacks to remove a lot of racist propaganda. Finally, I edited numerous articles about Apartheid, and in particular the article ] where I carefully documented atrocities in that Bantustan. Feel free to look at my edit history for more examples, however I will caution you to be mindful of ]. As for names, I subscribe to Misplaced Pages policies including ]. The reality is that South Africans of all backgrounds don’t often embrace renamings, perhaps because they are done after perfunctory consultations, and because the South Africa is increasingly anarchic and few people subscribe to government directions.] (]) 02:37, 29 November 2021 (UTC) |
