Anatoliy Golitsyn was a high level KGB spy who defected to the USA in the early 1960s.

He claimed that the USSR had long range plans to take over the USA that included taking down the Berlin Wall, faking the end of communism and lulling the USA into a false sense of security. He wrote his views in his books New Lies For Old and The Perestroika Deception which were published in 1984 and 1995 respectively.
