Jacques D'Arc du Lys, born 1380 and died 1431, was a free laborer of Domremy born at Ceffonds, near Montier, in Des (upper Marne). The "du Lys" title, meaning "of the Lily," was given as a status of nobility by letters patent of King Charles VII in December 1429, which was registered at the Chamber of Accounts on 20 January 1430. He married Isabelle de Vouthon (born 1387, died 1468), called Romee. Their known children were Jacquemin, Jean, Pierre, Catherine, and Jeanne (Joan of Arc).
