He was educated at Wharton School of Business, Trinity College, Cambridge, and Yale Law School. Lessig is a well-known critic of the lengthening of the protection term of copyrighted materials.
Recently he started to propose the concept Free culture and helped found the Creative Commons initiative.
He was lead counsel for the plaintiff in the case Eldred v. Ashcroft.
