Juan Avellaneda is a Spanish fashion designer, businessman and stylist. His work has been featured in numerous fashion shows and magazines.
Early life and education
Juan Avellaneda was born in Alicante, Spain. He was raised in a family with a strong interest in fashion, which encouraged him to pursue a career in the industry. He studied Business Administration and Management at the Open University of Catalonia and Creative Management at the London College of Fashion. In 2014, he founded the Avellaneda men's fashion brand. He is also the editor-in-chief of the La Garçonnière store and blog. In 2018, he published his first book, "Poténciate".
Career
After completing his studies, Avellaneda moved to Barcelona to start his career as a fashion designer. He worked for Zara and Mango, before launching his eponymous brand in 2012.
Avellaneda's first collection was a commercial success. His work blends traditional Spanish styles with contemporary fashion trends.
In 2014, Juan Avellaneda was awarded the "Who's on Next" award, a prize given by Vogue España and Inditex to new designers.
He has shown his work at fashion events including Madrid Fashion Week and the Barcelona Fashion Summit. His designs have been featured in fashion magazines including Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar.
In addition to his work in fashion design, he has also collaborated with several brands on special projects. He has worked with the car brand Bentley, designing a line of clothing inspired by the company's cars. He has also worked with Spanish wine brand Campo Viejo to create a label for one of their wines.
Other works
Since 2017, he has collaborated on several television programs as a fashion judge and commentator, such as "Cámbiame," "MasterChef Celebrity," and "Operación Triunfo," among others. He has also been most involved in digitalization with the See Now Buy Now system.
In 2019, he competed on the fourth season of the Spanish spin-off of the cooking-reality show MasterChef Celebrity, where he lasted for 10 programmes.
