In the second to last sentence in the second paragraph, it states “…many command and staff positions and riding to the rank of four-star general.” I believe the word “riding” should be edited to read “rising”. ] (]) 23:41, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

There is a line in the 4th paragraph that states Powell received three electoral votes in the 2016 Presidential election. This is not correct. I cannot provide proof but I believe the year was 1996. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.101.49.24 (talk) 20:37, 20 May 2022 (UTC)
It is correct. In the 2016 Presidential Election, the Electors for Washington: "****Washington does not appoint its electors proportionally. Due to faithless voting, the electoral votes for Washington were: for President, Clinton 8, Colin Powell 3, and Faith Spotted Eagle 1; for Vice President, Kaine 8, Elizabeth Warren 1, Susan Collins 1, Maria Cantwell 1, and Winona LaDuke 1." 142.254.26.9 (talk) 05:06, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

error identifying war: I think the country South Viet Nam, not South Korea
As a lieutenant colonel commanding 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry in South Korea, Powell was very close to his division commander, Major General Henry "Gunfighter" Emerson, whom he regarded as one of the most caring officers he ever met. Emerson insisted his troops train at night to fight a possible North Korean attack, and made them repeatedly watch the television film Brian's Song to promote racial harmony. 2603:6010:62F0:240:A43B:7952:CC60:60E6 (talk) 23:19, 11 February 2023 (UTC)
Re-arranging the infobox template
I think personal details should be moved to the top. I understand he was notable for the positions he held, but having to scroll down to his D.O.B. and other details seems almost disrespectful. What are others views on this? MaximusEditor (talk) 18:24, 8 May 2023 (UTC)
