:], thanks for that, very funny! This time I've decided to leave Jaakobou's bizarre warnings on my talk page. Casual browsers of this page should note that these warnings were in response to one single (and very reasonable) edit, and will be able to make up their own minds. However, tempting though it is to laugh at Jaakobou, I do hope he can change his behaviour and become a useful contributor to Misplaced Pages.

Oliver Kamm

I appreciate your comments on Oliver Kamm's talk page. Although I have other pressing tasks to attend at the moment, I'll eventually return to the discussion. Also, don't let TJive intimidate you. He's nothing but a bully. Sir Paul 06:24, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

It's ironic, though. I have long regarded Kamm as a pretentious fool who isn't worth a minute of anybody's time trying to read him -- which is why I've been reluctant to get drawn in. Yet I'm still wasting time on him...--NSH001 15:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Jesus' Pacifism getting attacked again by deniers

hi NSH001, just to let you know that Pacifism is getting attacked again by someone who wants equal weight to the notion that the historical Jesus was actually not a pacifist (you know, the typical Jesus "violently" driving out the moneychangers with his Rambo whip). if you want to help regarding that, your help would be appreciated. r b-j 20:28, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Just to let you know what the TRUTH of it is- if you haven't already visited the page. All that utter CRAP about "the warrior of his POV" is utter tripe. Absolute, utter nonsense. The incident with the money changers is a single, solitary piece of a complete paragraph. One can read the entirety of my edit, which ONLY stands as a secondary balancing of the initial portrayal of Jesus as a pacifist individual. The rest of the edit concerns Jesus direct connections to Jehovah in the Old Testament- as you most likely know, Jehovah and Jesus are both considered the same individual by most Christian denominations, and Jesus himself spoke of how "I and my father are one". I have been attempting to discuss this with Rbj, but he insists on spewing absolute crap like my "edits have no integrity". He's been altering my talk page comments on top of his insults, AND shoving things like "Jesus practiced what he preached"! right into the article, as well as making threats regarding the 3RR to me. I've given up trying to civilly discuss this with someone who absolutely refuses to be civil about the matter. He can sit on the farking article all he wants with his POV in fact, because I really am tired of trying to talk about things with him. I figure you deserve the truth about the matter, however. Cheers. Ex-Nintendo Employee 07:30, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Basque Portal?

Kaixo, I'm contacting you because you figure in Category:User eu, meaning that you speak some Basque. You must therefore be Basque yourself or have an intense connection with the Basque Country.

I am thinking that maybe was a good idea to create a Portal (or maybe a Wikiproject? or both?) on the Basque theme but I feel such kind of project requires more than just one person.

If you are interested, please comment in my talk page.

Enjoy, --Sugaar 10:33, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Neil

Hello Neil, thank you for your words of support on Sugaar's talk page. I have to admit I can't place you, I'm afraid - perhaps I never learnt your name in the the London Basque Society, or just forgot it (I'm pretty terrible at names in real life). I'm trying to recreate those days in my mind to conjure up your image - wish my memories won't so hazy! Well, whatever. I do appreciate your gesture - whether or not Sugaar is "convinced". Cheers, Alan

MEMRI talk page

Hi from the MEMRI talk page. It is nice to see a Quaker making his way over there as it can get contentious (I grew up in the Quaker school and camp system--altho not a Quaker--and miss a good silent meeting) Please see my response to your recent comment . Elizmr 16:57, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

WK

Good evening, Neil Someone has written a line about someone called Wullie Galleon (famous resident?) on the WK article. It looks like nonsense to me and I suggest we delete it. What say you? Kind regards from Avril.rennie 23:18, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, now I know that the "Merrick" is really the Inverclyde! Apart from that useful little piece of news, I can't see any reason to keep it. Too many non-notables tend to find their way into such sections of geographical articles, and should be deleted. I suspect the same applies to a few others on that list. Kind regards,
--NSH001 23:42, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
Yes, the Inverclyde has been refurbished and is now called the Merrick. Thank you for deleting the eponymous Mr Galleon (the Galleon Inn is now derelict, just up the road).
Regarding possibly deleting others, I'd like to get more information about Helen Keller's stay in WK; just how illustrious was Mr Gosman's rugby career?; Jean McCulloch was a name to conjure with when I was a child, but I don't know what golfing titles she won. It should be easy to find out, surely.
Hope you had a good weekend! With kind regards Avril.rennie 01:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Shimon Tzabar

Welcome to Misplaced Pages, and thank you for your contributions. As a member of the Misplaced Pages community, I would like to remind you to adhere to Misplaced Pages's neutral point of view policy for editors, which it appears you have not followed at Shimon Tzabar. Thank you.

please avoid the implementation of weasel terms as you did here "His disgust". note: there's not much POV in shortening "West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, and the Syrian Golan Heights" to "territories" - however, the term "occupation" is a politically charged one in contrast with "siezure". If you have proper reasoning for this, please state so on the talk page rather than attempt mass revertion. Jaakobou 12:07, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

With regards to your comments on User talk:RolandR: Please see Misplaced Pages's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.

for starters, you should assume good faith rather than portray a valid warning over unrefrenced weasel terms (i.e. "disgusted") as "attempted bullying", secondly, you can just remove this semi-help request semi-personal attack and i'll remove this 'uw-npa2' warning and we can forget it ever happened. Jaakobou 20:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at User talk:NSH001; this is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

It is very much frowned upon to remove legitimate warnings by yourself from your userpage without addressing them beforehand. Jaakobou 20:23, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for leaving a WP:3RR warning on my page, however I have not crossed the 3RR rule (i've also replied on my page).

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Misplaced Pages, as you did to User talk:NSH001, you will be blocked from editing.

As i've allready told you, you may not remove/refactor legitimate warnings by yourself from your talkpage without addressing them properly. As this is probably the 4th or 5th time you totally disregard policy (1st delete, and 2nd delete after 'uw-tpv2' notice), I'm no longer assuming good faith and giving you a final notice. Jaakobou 08:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Neil, I wouldn't be too worried at User:Jaakobou's bluster. He constantly threatens and attempts to bully other editors who do not agree with his own POV. He regularly issues totally baseless "final warnings", which he never follows up. As for the suggestion that you are vandalising your own talk page, I suggest you treat this as a bit of comic relief; we all need to laugh occasionally.
I don't think he has yet broken 3RR on the article, though he has come close to doing so. I'm watching, and will certainly report im if he does.
Meanwhile, we should do all we can to ensure that the article is balanced and facual, and does not misrepresent Shimon's own trenchantly expressed opinions. RolandR 08:59, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
User:RolandR, if you feel I "constantly threaten" and "bully" you, you can report it rather than make the allegation (i.e. personal attack) here. Jaakobou 13:37, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Thought for the Day

One of my favourite movie exchanges, from the sublime Casablanca:

Ugarte (Peter Lorre)"You despise me don't you?" Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) "Well, if I gave you any thought I probably would."

RolandR 23:25, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

RolandR, thanks for that, very funny! This time I've decided to leave Jaakobou's bizarre warnings on my talk page. Casual browsers of this page should note that these warnings were in response to one single (and very reasonable) edit, and will be able to make up their own minds. However, tempting though it is to laugh at Jaakobou, I do hope he can change his behaviour and become a useful contributor to Misplaced Pages.

sorry, i didn't understand the user talkpage policy...

apparently it's ok to remove warnings from the pages of other users to help them avoid the WP:3RR, sorry, i didn't understand the user talkpage policy... Jaakobou 06:13, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
