Ron Burgundy is a fictional and title character of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Ron Burgundy is a five-time "local" Emmy award-winning journalist, he is the leading anchorman for the KVWN Channel Four News Team. Always confident and well-dressed, he is nevertheless ignorant, egotistical, and not very intelligent but also remains the rock for the entire team. Known to be a "man's man", he develops a love relationship with newcomer Veronica Corningstone, having first troubling wooing her with tried and true measures that allegedly won him many bimbo-type women in the past. He has a great fondness for a good glass of scotch whisky, poetry and his best friend/pet dog Baxter, and plays a mean jazz flute. He refers to his fists as Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary, calls his arms "guns", and is most definitely not afraid to throw down in fisticuffs. He is so strong that he can do over 1000 curls. Ron, or the cobra, as he's known as by his 'Nam pals, is an avid fly fisherman and big game hunter. He especially likes to hunt the rare siberian gray moose, which occurs only in small herds in the cold, harsh, demanding tundra. Burgundy also had a brief stint as a male model for Men's Warehouse. His perfect mustache evoked manhood which made him a popular model in their catalogs. He now has moved on from modeling and newscasting and is working on bringing the popular Broadway show 'Hairspray' into a dinner theater extravaganza. He had suits so fine they made sinatra look like a hobo.
