In Welsh mythology, Morda was a blind old man whom the witch Ceridwen hired to tend to the fire underneath her cauldron. Morda is also a Belgian metal/hardcore band

Morda is a village on the outskirts of the town of Oswestry, Shropshire, England, located on the border of England and Wales, however it is best known in the local area for its hugely successful football team. Morda United FC were founded in 1951 and play their home games at Western Lane with a capacity of approximately 50, although legend does have it that it once took over 300 for a County Cup encounter between Morda and local rivals Heath Farm Rangers. They play their football in the Midlands alliance league and have sparcly moved from the division since they were founded in 1951. Their most famous players include Colin Turner, Alan Richards, Derek Graham and Ernie Clarke; all household names in the local area. Their squad today however has had a recent revamp, with former player and now manager Colin Turner bringing in a lot of youth to the club in an effort to propel Morda up the leagues towards the Nationwide Conference. Ex Shrewsbury Town F.C. players Elliot Eaton, Chris Catherall and Scott Graham have recently signed for the club, along with Elliott Howse who once plied his trade at Accrington Stanley.
