Krishnapatnam Industrial City (commonly known as KRIS City), is an industrial node currently under construction in Tirupati district ,Andhra Pradesh, India. This city is a part of Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.
History
In order to build, promote, and facilitate the development of the Krishnapatnam Industrial Node under CBIC, NICDIT and APIIC formed NICDIT Krishnapatnam Industrial City Development Ltd (NKICDL) on August 7, 2018, with equity participation from the Central and State Governments.
Over a 20-year period, the plan allots development of land enough to support a population of roughly 467,800 workers and 291,000 residents. The plan outlines design concepts for the development of a thriving greenfield economic hub that promotes innovation in all sectors, providing a framework for achieving the anticipated investment and employment potential.
Timeline
On 8 January 2025, the foundation stone was laid by Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.
