Nigerian politician and lawmaker

Mojisola Lasbat Meranda is a Nigerian politician and the current Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. She has been the lawmaker representing Apapa I constituency since May 2015. Meranda was sworn in as the Speaker on January 13, 2025 following the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa over allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Early life and education

Meranda received her primary education at St. Charles Nursery and Primary School, and later at Randle Primary School at Randle Avenue both in Surulere from 1986 to 1992. She then attended the Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar School, Surulere from 1992 to 1996, after which she moved to Ansar-Ud-Deen Secondary School, Surulere where she completed here secondary education in 1998. After her secondary education, Meranda obtained an advanced certificate in software development in 2005. She subsequently received a bachelors of science in public administration at the Lagos State University in 2013.
