Reunification Day is a public holiday in Vietnam which marks the anniversary of when North Vietnam captured Ho Chi Minh City (at the time known as Saigon) on 30 April 1975. This signalled the end of the Vietnam war.

The anniversary is marked by several festivals around the date. In 2005 because the 30 April falls on a Saturday, Monday 2 May will be taken as a public holiday.
