On 22/7/2007 a Kingfisher Airlines A 319 landed on the new runway. The airline is expected to start a daily service to Mumbai via Hyderabad in the new A 319. Vishakhapatnam Airport or Visakhapatnam Airport (IATA: VTZ, ICAO: VEVZ) is located at Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is controlled by the Indian Navy which carries out air traffic control and well as provides support for flying operations for both military and civil aviation
