Bosanski Šamac (in Serbian Cyrillic: Бocaнcки Шaмaц) is a town in the northern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on the right bank of the Sava river. It is under the administration of Republika Srpska. Gradačac and Modriča are neighbouring towns; and Čardak and Kornica are neighbouring villages. It is the birthplace of Alija Izetbegovic and Zoran Djindjic, former presidents of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia respectively.
