This is a list of games available in the North America region. For a list of other regions see List of Virtual Console games.
The games are purchased in the Wii Shop Channel and require users to purchase Wii Points. Wii Points is the payment system devised by Nintendo for the Wii console. Consumers can purchase points by an online credit card/debit card transaction or by purchasing a Wii Points card at retail. These points may then be redeemed on downloadable games and other content in the Wii Shop. NES games cost 500 points, SNES and Genesis games cost 800 points, Nintendo 64 games cost 1000 points, and TurboGrafx-16 games cost 600 points. The only titles with different pricing are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which costs 600 Wii Points, instead of the usual 500 for a NES game) and R-Type (which costs 800 points instead of the usual 600 for a TurboGrafx-16 game).
Controller compatibility
For an overview of which controllers are compatible with the various games, see Virtual Console.
