Press TV (also rendered as PRESS TV) is an English-language Iranian international television news channel, funded by the Iranian government through Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. In late January 2007, it launched it's website . In late April 2007, it launched test transmissions on many satellites around the world. It plans to launch by June 2007 . It will apparantly broadcast in the English language if and when the channel is launched.
It aims to promote an Iranian view of the world, namely anti-americanism and conspiracy theories. Despite being touted as carrying politcal reports and items of international significance, much of the content is only of local interest, such as as a book fair or warm weather.
It has a sister channel in Arabic, Al-Alam.
