A triptych (from the Greek tri- "three" + ptychē "fold") is a painting which is divided into three sections. There were most common with Renaissance painters, especially those who painted in a religious style.
Triptychs are altar pieces in many churches and cathedrals, European and elsewhere. One such place with a triptych is Llandaff Cathedral.
Hans Memming painted a religious triptych.
A triptych is also a type of branching on a printed circuit board.
