John Lenders is an Australian politician. He has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Parliament of Victoria since 1999. He represented the electorate of Dandenong North in the Legislative Assembly from 1999 to 2002, and has served in the Legislative Council since 2002, representing Waverley Province and then the Southern Metropolitan Region. He is the current state Treasurer and Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council.

He previously held, at various times, the portfolios of education, industrial relations, finance, major projects, WorkCover and the TAC. As Minister for Industrial Relations he championed the Federal Awards (Uniform System) Bill, which sought to provide Federal award employment protection to Victoria's non-award covered workers, which was passed by Parliament in 2003. He was promoted to the Treasury in August 2007 after the accession of John Brumby to the Premiership, beating out rival aspirant Tim Holding for the position.
