Rex Gildo (July 2 1939 - October 26 1999) Germany's greatest Schlager Balladeer Rex Sold Millions of Records and starred in 1960s and 1970s romantic musicals.
He sang often with German-Danish singer [[Gitte Haenning) and had million selling Euro Hits 1962 "speedy Gonzales", 1965 "Goodbye Susanna" 1972 "Fiesta Mexicana", 1973 "der Sommer ist Vorbei", 1974 "Marie der laste tanze", 1985 Ein rendezvous auf venedig "1989 "mexicanische nacht".
Rex Gildo became famous in Germany, Holland, Austria/Eu counties and the world over especially for his melodic artistically perfect songs of love, romance flavoured with Spanish/Mexican lyrics and music. Rex Gildo's most famous Hit Singles were "Fiesta Mexicana 1972" and his masterpiece "Der Sommer ist vorbei" 1973 with a magic DISCO performance.
In 1974 Rex Gildo Married Marion and millions of his female fans hearts were broken. Rex was always a young handsome teen idol similar in greatness and record sales to UK's greatest singer Cliff Richard.
Rex Gildo continued through a golden career 1959 to 1999 to sell many millions of Schlager Ballads, appear on ZDF Hitparade , concerts, films, tv shows and was a magnificent work of art compared to the noisy, drug infested rock/metal/punk/hip hop/acid that were competing with him.
Despite his early death from a depression suicide leap 23 October 1999 (dying 26 October 1999 In Munich hospital) REX GILDO is universally admired and fans in their millions pay tribute, buy records, create/run memorable REX GILDO websites, campaign for DVD/CD releases.
