Paul and Shirley Eberle are US American authors. Paul Eberle is a former writer for the Los Angeles Free Press.

In the 1970s, the Eberles published a pornography publication called Finger, and in the 1980s, they edited the soft-core pornography magazine L.A. Star. Finger promoted the radical left "underground" libertarian or utopian philosophy of sexuality.

They published The Politics of Child Abuse (1986), on false allegation of child sexual abuse in the day care sex abuse hysteria in progress in the USA at the time, and in 1993, The Abuse of Innocence, covering the McMartin preschool trial.

Alan Dershowitz called the book, The Abuse of Innocence, "... a wake-up call to those who believe that prosecutors and their experts can be trusted to do justice in the emotional context of child abuse."

In 2002, in an interview with the Morning Call newspaper of Allentown, PA, Paul Eberle accused the American Martyrs Church as accommodating the "witch-hunters" in the McMartin case.

The Eberles based on their history as editors of pornographic publications were portrayed as "former child pornographers" with a hidden interest in covering up child abuse by their critics, such as Patricia Toth, director of the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse. Jan Hollingsworth's review of Innocence for the Tampa Tribune quotes Tyler as claiming that "For a period of time during the 70s, Paul and Shirley Eberle were the most prolific publishers of child pornography in the United States."

Earl (1995) suggests that these accusations were "a projection of their own vested interest in maintaining a 'child abuse industry', on the part of "ideologically entrenched child protection professionals". Earl points out that no evidence of illegal child exploitation by the Eberles was found on the pages of Finger or anywhere else, nor were the Eberles ever brought to trial on obscenity charges. Earl also notes that the Eberles emphatically deny ever having had the slightest interest in any kind of sexual exploitation for either personal or monetary gain.
