Culoz is a commune in the Ain département in the Rhône-Alpes region of France.

Geography

The town is situated on the right bank of the Rhône river, dominated by the Grand Colombier mountain at the end of the Jura range, and as such, the foothills of the Alps. The D902 and D904 roads meet at Culoz.

History

An inmportant road and rail crossroads. The railway station serves lines to Geneva, Bellegarde-sur-Valserine, Evian, Aix-les-Bains, Bourg-saint-Maurice, Lyons and Paris.
