Scott Thompson (born February 25, 1965 in Cocoa Beach, FL) known by his stage name Carrot Top, is an American prop comedian famous for his thick, curly red hair and often self-parodying style of comedy.

Early life

Carrot Top grew up in Florida where his father, Randy Weigand, was a scientist at NASA. He graduated from Cocoa High School in 1983. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. When someone suggested he try out for the college talent show he tried a few old jokes, but found real success the next year when he added a few props to his act.

Career

According to his official site, Carrot Top spends fifteen weeks a year doing live performances in Las Vegas (currently performing at the Luxor Hotel) and does over a hundred shows a year on tour. His routine is most known for his use of props.

Carrot Top has also appeared in movies, including 1998's Chairman of The Board, and served as a spokesman and appeared in commercials for 1-800-CALL-ATT. He was the continuity announcer for Cartoon Network between 1995 and 1999. He also recorded a commentary track for the 2002 Roger Avary film The Rules of Attraction.

Carrot Top has also been frequently parodied, often in a manner mocking his routine as unfunny. Even his Scrubs appearance as himself shows him being unfunny to the present interns.
