Template:Infobox Municipality pt Nordeste (pron. IPA: [nɔɾ'dɛʃt(ɨ)]; Portuguese for northeast, hence that part of the island) is a municipality on the northeastern part of São Miguel Island in the Azores. It has a population of 5,254.

Nordeste is located east of Ponta Delgada and Vila Franca do Campo, E of Ribeira Grande and NE of Furnas and is linked with a road connecting Ponta Delgada and Lagoa and west to Ribeira Grande. The parish is the leastly populated in the island. Most of the mountains are covered with forests and valleys which features creeks and streams and are grassy in both lower and higher elevations. The rest of the land are made up of agricultural lands and some forests. The mountaintop is to the southwest and the coastline is to the northwest, the northeast and the southeast. The main source of industry are agriculture and fishing while some businesses are in the downtown area. The mountains lie to the south and west. The highest elevations of Nordeste are: Pico Redondo (980 m), Pico Verde (927 m), Pico Bartolomeu (887 m) and Pico da Vara (1103 m), the last being the highest point of São Miguel Island.

The parish is the third-largest. The easternmost settlement is Lomba do Moio.

Nordeste has a school, a lyceum, a gymnasium, banks, a post office, a small port and a square or a plaza (praça).

The most populated parish in population and density and the largest parish is Nordeste, the leastly populated parish is Salga. 3,908 or 73.86% of the population live in places under 1,000. The smallest parish is Salga. The highest parish is São Pedro de Nordestinho in location. The westernmost parish is Salga, the easternmost is Nordeste.
