"The Night Moves"
"The Night Moves" is the 91st episode and the fifteenth episode of the fourth season of the FOXtelevision series, The O.C.. It was first broadcast aired on Thursday, February 15, 2007.
After the earthquake shakes up Orange County, the gang struggles to make sure everyone is okay. Although Sandy has told him to stay where he is, Seth will do whatever it takes to be with Ryan and Taylor. When they are finally reunited, Seth learns what it is really like to be a brother when he finds out that Ryan is badly hurt. Summer and Taylor cannot find Pancakes, Taylor finds out that family bonds are greater than she thinks. Meanwhile, the Coopers are stuck in the ice cream shop with the smitten ice cream boy, who pretends that in the process of the earthquake the pier (which the ice cream shop is on) broke away and went out to sea. He later reveals he did this as he wanted to keep Kaitlin there, on whom he had a crush. Julie and Kaitlin sing together (much to the delight of the ice cream boy). They are saved by the only man in Newport for Julie Cooper, Frank Atwood. However, like so much in Newport, things are not what they seem when the family returns to the Cohen house.
Trivia
The 91 on the cake at the ice cream shop is a reference to this being the 91st episode.
The song "Night Moves", which is sung by Julie and Kaitlin in this episode, is Julie and Luke's song. It was played all the time during their little romance in the first season.
The first time this song is heard is at the beginning of the episode as the characters are dealing with the initial aftermath of the earthquake. It is played a second time as Seth and Ryan are walking down the street trying to stay focused by naming their friends from the past.
