Piñata Award

Slakr's Piñata Award

For all of your excellent work, I hereby award you the world's largest piñata, so that the next time you become stressed, you're able to put on a blindfold, grab a stick, and knock the crap out of your problem without worrying about not hitting the mark. :P Even better, you'll get a bunch of candy once you're finished. :D

Thanks for everything, and remember: illegitimi non carborundum. Cheers =) --slakr 20:39, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

WTF?

Oh no, not you. Mail me if you have to. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 22:05, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

With all thoughts

Alison,

Just a short personal note from us all, so you know that everyone, from the new users you help, to administrators, to almost all on English Misplaced Pages, will miss you and wish you godspeed. Much sadness for one of the few Wikipedians for whom one might say there was/is communal love, rather than just respect or approval... and hoping it is temporary but understanding the impact of things, and why it's as it is.

This note is posted on behalf of all of us, in addition to any messages any have expressed in private; we know how much you would wish to avoid a circus of hundreds of messages, but we wanted to write something in public as well as individually in private, even whilst respecting your wish not to dwell upon it here. We want to be clear that respectful silence of many users does not mean lack of caring.

The help you have given to many users, freely and widely, is unlikely to ever be forgotten.

For and on behalf of Arbcom-l, and any and all of the following:

Blnguyen, Charles Matthews, David Gerard, Deskana, Dmcdevit, FayssalF, FloNight, Fred Bauder, FT2, Jayjg, Jdforrester, Jimbo Wales, Jpgordon, Kirill Lokshin, Mackensen, Kat Walsh, Sam Korn, Morven, Neutrality, Newyorkbrad, David Friedland, Rebecca, Paul August, Raul654, Sam Blacketer, Sannse, Sean Barrett, Theresa Knott, Thebainer, UninvitedCompany,

and the community as a whole,

FT2  00:09, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I second the above thoughts. Whatever possible disagreement I may have had in the recent controversies, I think Alison is one of the "good guys" (or gals) and hope her departure is temporary. *Dan T.* (talk) 00:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I just noticed this. While I'm not quite sure what happened, I've seen refs to WR and off-site harassment. I'm very sorry to hear this. Best wishes, and much thanks. Cheer-up, it's not real-life here. Jack Merridew 07:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry this happened to you. You've been extremely helpful and I appreciate that very much. It is just a website and you did the right thing. Nothing is more important than the safety of your family. EconomicsGuy (talk) 08:18, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Your health and safety is more important than any tool. If I had a choice, I would definitely go down this path. It's not the end of the world, you can still edit; and the sysop tools is just a conductor of drama, so there's no loss really. Maybe this will allow more time to do what this website is meant to do, give knowledge. Happy editing Allie :) —Dark 08:41, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I too am deeply saddened by this. I hope you return and follow through to a better ending. Regards, Rudget. 14:14, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

One of the darkest wiki days ever. You're a great admin and in my book THE BEST CU ever. Things will never be the same. — RlevseTalk15:42, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Every aspect of this situation is deeply upsetting and unacceptable. Please accept my very best regards and hopes and wishes. Newyorkbrad (talk) 15:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I understand your decision, yet greatly regret that you were pushed into it. You were a good contributor and user of the tools, significantly improving the average standing of those in your position. GRBerry 16:33, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Your decision is your own, hopefully you'll still be around on freenode and sociable. :) --Charitwo 16:52, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

And Go dte tu an cead, Eireann go braugh! (Tha mi ag iarraidh briosgaid ^^). -- lucasbfr (using User:Lucasbfr2) 17:05, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Alison, I granted your rollback request. I don't really know what's going on, but I hope you're alright and wish you the best. WODUP 19:18, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Strongly to be missed. MBisanz 06:34, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

This is the first time I've ever dropped a note like this to somebody with whom I've never actually interacted but I wanted to say that I'm sad to see you relinquish your various privileges, because, from observation, I always felt that they were in extremely good hands with you. Best wishes, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:03, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

You still kick ass

Period. Do your thing, take care and most of all, make sure whatever you do, you have fun doing it! -- User:RyanFreisling @ 16:56, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey

I would suggest the possibility that you might have an e-mail. --ÐeadΣyeДrrow (Talk - Contribs) 16:58, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Just another thread

Click "show" to see discussion
Note, thread previously called "Alison, Molag bal sock behaviour pattern again???".

I dont like to reply to him with this account if I can help it, so I opened a new account to reply to his message on the talk page, that I might just scrap.

He seems to want to suppress a quality reply to his IP sock discussion on the geordies of note page. He is ironically using his sock IP address to call my sock a sock. http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk:List_of_Geordies&action=history

Here is the latest page he has suppressed the debunking with his last edit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/search/?title=Talk:List_of_Geordies&oldid=199637388

He wont let the debunking reply stay up and is using his sock to call my other response account to him a sock

Ridiculous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gregs the baker (talkcontribs) 18:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

You're wasting your time, sad to say - she's left. -Jéské 18:32, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
She's not LEFT, per se.. but she has resigned her CheckUser and Admin bits. She's going to be spending more time elsewhere, but she's not gone. Just give her time and space, please. Thanks! SirFozzie (talk) 19:19, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

wait a minute, Gregs the baker has just admitted above that he is used a sockpuppet in order to win an argument on an extremely controversial topic that he was blocked for edit warring on in the past, he seems to think his use of sockpuppets to win the argument is justified? does WP:SOCK allow this? I don't think so... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.70.148 (talk) 21:26, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

People, please take this somewhere else. Thanks, Newyorkbrad (talk) 21:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I've popped this in a collapsed section, and retitled it. Let's not give Alison any more grief. AGK § 22:36, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Misplaced Pages:Requests for checkuser/Case/Davenbelle

Do you think you can take a look at this case? -- Cat 08:01, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually judging from your talk page you probably shouldn't worry about it. :) Welcome Back to the GTD Aquitaine. -- Cat 08:11, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
