This list contains the 173 legal or de-facto currencies of the 191 UN member states (one of which – Serbia and Montenegro – is split up into Serbia, Montenegro, and Kosovo) the Vatican City, Taiwan, Transnistria, |Palestine and 24 dependencies.

List of Currencies

Notes

1 = The Indian Rupee (INR) is also legal tender.

2 = The United States Dollar (USD) is also legal tender or accepted as legal tender.

3 = The Singapore Doller (SGD) is also legal tender.

4 = The Cook Islands also have local $5, $2, 50¢, 20¢, 10¢, and 5¢ coins that are not negotiable elsewhere.

5 = The Cuban Peso (CUP) is also legal tender.

6 = The Turkish Lira (TRL) and the New Turkish Lira (TRY) are used in the Turkish Cypriot area.

7 = The Russian Rouble (RUB) is also legal tender in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

8 = The Serbian Dinar (CSD) is also legal tender.

9 = The South African Rand (ZAR) is also legal tender.

10 = The Jordanian Dinar (JOD) is also used.

11 = The Romanian Leu (ROL) is also legal tender.

12 = The Brunei Doller (BND) is also legal tender.

13 = The Turkish Lira (TRL) is also legal tender.

14 = The Australian dollar (AUD) is also legal tender.

15 = England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland each have their own banknotes, which are only legal tender inside the area were they were issued, but are often excepted throughout the country. The only exception are Northern Irish banknotes, which are legal tender in Scotland.
