==History==

The station began regular operations barely 11 days before the end of the Marcos dictatorship, or on Valentine's Day 1986. It became a witness to history unfolding before the Filipinos. The station started broadcasting itself from the Philippine Communications Center building (PHILCOMCEN) in Pasig City, starting with a 10 on- air crew led by Burning Bernie (now the station's president and general manager) The Classic Dj's during that period inclusive of Bernie,were the Fab 10; Little David, Joe D'Mangoe,Sgt.Pepper,The Gaucho, Paul Reno, Ken Fortun,Rockin V, Michael Vincent and ].Between the year's 1988 to 1989 (the year of the Magic), the station started to reformat its broadcasting slot to 24-7, providing for itself 24 hours of airtime for its listeners.It was a huge success. "The Battle of the Radios" during that era, was supported by a wide variety of spoofs and gimmicks not to mention sidekicks,(no computers, no hard drives but just a bunch of wires) to which made Broadcasting ultra-creative as compared to the digital technology we have today.

10 years afterwards, the Magic transferred its studios from the Philippine Communications Center to Paragon Plaza in Mandaluyong City.
Magic 89.9 became the first home of "Love Notes", to what was initially conceptualized as a gimmick, the 15 minute counseling program hosted by Joe D'Mango became an instant hit among office staff every Friday morning. It transferred its home to its sister station ] in 2001.

It is always known for making Fridays nostalgia days with its Friday Madness (then Friday Magic Madness), a format that started a trend on FM radio that was previously only done on a weekend. {{Year}}

], after four years in hiatus, returned to Magic 89.9, with Good Times With Mo (Limited Edition). It was so good, that he returned again in February 2006 with Good Times With Mo, then a late night show. In June 2006, it was transferred to the morning slot (6-9 AM) with Mo's co-hosts Andi-9 (resigned in February 2007,returned in June 2007, and left again on November 2007) and Mojo Jojo. Another change of lineup and programming happened in June 2006 and again in March 2007.

On July 17, 2007, The Magic website was in operation once more to serve the net surfing Magic 89.9 listeners. HiT FM 99.5 DJ Sam YG (a former member of its now-defunct Campus Patrol program until 2005 after which he transferred to 99.5 RT (the predecessor of HIT FM)), was featured in a plug in this said station (heard in early July), where Mo Twister played the station manager. For that stunt, he was suspended from HiT FM 99.5 and eventually transferred to the Magic effective July 14, 2007.

Recent additions to the Magic family of jocks include Tin (actually a returnee; she started out as a junior jock before moving to sister station 99.5 Hit FM) and Lellie (moved after the rebrand of 99.5 Hit FM as ]). And after numerous stints with the station (especially on Good Times), Andi9 returned once more to replace Miles in the late afternoon shift with Lil' Joey. Instead of ''"eighty-nine point nine",'' the call numbers of Magic is now officially read as ''"eight nine point nine"'', an apparent attempt to create distinction from competition.

Magic 89.9 (DWTM 89.9 MHz Metro Manila) is the flagship FM station of Quest Broadcasting Incorporated/The Radio Partners Inc. The station's two studios are located at Paragon Plaza, Mandaluyong City and Eastwood City Cyberpark, Libis, Quezon City.

History
