The olive oil produced in the area is of top quality. Makrisi was devastated in the fires that swept through the area in August of 2007. |

Makrisi is a small village, northeast of Megalopolis. Like most villages in the Peloponnese, it isn't very large. The few inhabitants that remain cultivate olive trees.
