Paul Truong, a child prodigy, born in June 1965, is an 11-time national chess champion of Vietnam. He currently resides in the United States after fleeing South Vietnam as a boat refugee in April 1979.
In 2003, Troung co-founded the U.S. Women's Chess Olympiad Program with former Women's World Champion Susan Polgar. In 2004, Paul served as the captain and manager of the U.S. Women's Chess Olympiad Team.
