Neelima Azeem (born Kanwal Azeem) is an Indian TV actress and the mother of Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor from first husband, Bollywood actor Pankaj Kapoor. They divorced when Shahid Kapoor was 3 years old.
Her father was Anwar Azeem, a prominent Marxist journalist and author.
Neelima Azeem has majored in classical Indian Dance and is known in India for her TV shows.
She also worked in Hindi movie, Sadak opposite Deepak Tijori.
She got married in 2007 to the singer Ustad Raza Ali Khan who is one of India's greatest singers. He is the son of Ustad Munnawar Ali Khan and the great-grandson of the legendary classical vocalist, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
She is a trained classical Indian dancer (kathak).
