Regarding Our Reel Big Fish Tribute Band Is Better Than Your Reel Big Fish Tribute Band
This band fits notability criteria for musicians and ensembles #7 They are the most prominent representative of tributes to the notable band, Reel Big Fish as demonstrated locally by their numerous, performances in the New England area, including the, just added, appearance with Cas Haley of America's Got Talent & as demonstrated globally by their sheer web presence. (appear above all other Reel Big Fish Tribute bands in Google results for "Reel Big Fish Tribute" etc.) (more combine plays than any other tribute to Reel Big Fish on YouTube.)
I'm back
I know you all were worried. I was on vacation. Here's what I did: Moab, Utah. Hiked Arches National Park. Hiked Hanging Lake. Hiked 2,000 vertical feet and snowboarded same at Breckenridge Ski Resort on July 4th. Rafted the Blue River, which had Class 3 rapids. Lots of this. Fourteen hour drive home from Dillon, CO to Phoenix, AZ today. Exhausted!
If anyone above still needs questions answered or whatever, please leave another message. Thanks! Tan | 39 04:18, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

- This is seriously weird. I'm on a trip and doing some of the same things. Did Arches and Bryce today. Hell of a lot of driving. Grand Canyon tomorrow. In AZ now. Air conditioning sucks in this room. I was in Colorado Springs, Green River, Utah, Denver, Bryce, Arches. Never in Moab, but Arches is very close to it. Enigma from an IP, 10 July 2008
- Crazy dude! Arches is like two miles from Moab, hard to believe you went there (apparently from the north) and never ventured into Moab. Not that there's much to see there. Tan | 39 04:01, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- Heh, Moab is the only "city" around there. There was no time to waste because I wanted to get to Bryce as well. Was staying in Green River, and Arches was SE from there I believe. Left the hotel at 7:15 AM, went to Arches, was there for like an hour, circled back towards Green River and then began the long trek down to Bryce. Would've liked to have more time for Bryce and Arches, but I'm going to be all day at the Grand Canyon tomorrow, so I needed to get to the hotel near Grand Canyon tonight. This is my fourth "hotel"/dump in four nights. Enigma from an IP, 10 July 2008

- I wish. I'm missing out on Phoenix and Vegas this time because I have a lot of other things planned. Ton of stuff in California. Went through Flagstaff, though, and wasn't far from Phoenix at one point. In Flagstaff, some bar was doing 10 cent beer night. Can't believe they still do those things. It's been tried in baseball, and one of the times it ended in catastrophe. Enigma from an IP, 10 July 2008
Template:Election box total no change
Hi. Just a friendly reminder that when going through CAT:CSD, you should check Special:WhatLinksHere, particularly for templates. If a template is used in an article, it shouldn't be deleted, for obvious reasons. In addition to the obvious, deleting an in-use template leaves every page that once transcluded that template in CAT:CSD, so if there is a good reason to delete it and red linked transclusions don't matter (ie, a user box being deleted under T1), it's a good idea to make an edit to remove the deletion template first. That will remove all of the pages that transclude the template from CAT:CSD and you can delete it. --B (talk) 05:07, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Whoops; notice I stayed away from all those other California election CSDs. I looked at that one and meant to move on to the next; must have made a mistake. Thanks a ton for mopping up behind me - I clearly need to be more careful! Tan | 39 05:09, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Monte Negro (band)
hi,
I'm wondering why the page for Monte Negro (band) was deleted. I looked up article A7, and in the page I clearly give reasons why the band Monte Negro is significant; "they are bilingual" "released 5 EPs".... this isn't a garage band, they have many fans in many countries throughout the Americas. Would you like me to say when they are on TV? I'm confused about what is "significant" to you. Also, where is all the text I wrote for the page, did you delete all of it? Will I have to create a whole new page?
-brett —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brettcopell (talk • contribs) 16:07, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- The fact that they are bilingual and released 5 EPs does not make this a notable band. If you can clearly tell me how this band meets the requirements of WP:BAND, I will reconsider. Yes, it's all deleted. I can provide it to you if you wish, but if you create another article without showing how this band is notable, it will be deleted again immediately. Fusebox Funk
Hello. I wrote a article about the band Fusebox Funk. I included several links to significant media coverage of the band and reviews/articles done about the band. You deleted the article because (A7) notability. There was significant and reliable sources to prove otherwise, that the band is notable. Please help me make the article relevant and keep it from getting deleted.
Thanks!

Regarding: Deletion of Icon Systems, Inc. Article
Dear Tanthalas39:
Could you please review my Article about Icon Systems, Inc? I was planning on adding more information to my article with sources, but it was deleted within 10 minutes. Icon Systems has made one of the most notable contribution to Church Management software industry. With Icon Systems was one of the first company to develop "Windows based" Church Software back in 1993 when DOS based church software was highly used by others. In the review from Christian Computing magazine, October 1994, Vol 6 No. 10,Pg.18 "Revelations Church software received" more perfect 10 than any other software package." Icon Systems was also one the first company to develop Web-based Management software. This company has made a very notable contribution to the church software industry.
Could you please re-consider my request so that I can add more information?
Thank you,

- The company in question did not even come close, as the article was written, to meeting the notability requirements set forth in WP:CORP. If you can show me how this company meets those requirements, I will reconsider. Tan | 39 20:31, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
Inkhead
Hi,
My article "InkHead" was marked for speedy deletion under "blatantly advertising". I edited the article and took out the paragraphs which I believe were advertising nature. Then I received a message from you (Doesn't indicate importance or significance of a group/company/etc.) I'm wondering if you could help me to find the existing suitable category for InkHead. It should fall under "Promotional Products", "Corporate Gifts" online distributor company. Do I need to create a new category? If so, how do I do this? Or is there a more suitable category that they would fall under. InkHead is an important company in the Promotional Product industry. They are slated to be in the Inc. 5000 this year. I believe that InkHead marketing information is very useful for corporate, businesses and universities when it comes to brand building or corporate or school spirit building. If you would kindly show me to get the article listed, I would greatly appreciate.

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Page
Can you review my version and Yaf's version and make an edit? I have been trying to briefly summarize CSGV's positions (not whether they are right or wrong) and I feel as if Yaf is injecting his own opinion about the political debate revolving around each of the organizations goal. In my opinion the brief summaries that I have offered are sterile and is the easiest way to do it, but I would defer to you what you think is best. 216.15.42.55 (talk) 20:22, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to the wacky world of MascotGuy.
Sorry I wasn't more clear about that user over on AIV, but this guy is utterly bizarre. I was fortunate enough a few years ago to actually contact his mom since one of his socks was his mom's e-mail address. What he is is an autistic teenager in San Diego, California editing on a dynamic Road Runner Cable IP. In nearly five years of this cat-and-mouse game, he's amassed something like 800 sockpuppets. Take a look at Misplaced Pages:Long term abuse/MascotGuy to get a better idea of why this kid has earned his own long term abuse page. Thanks. :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 21:50, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, yo. I'll familiarize myself so that I don't require hand-holding next time :-) Tan | 39 21:51, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
No prob. He's just been doing this nonsense for so long that I thought everyone was familiar with him by now. It has gotten to the point where I'd actually suggested on the AN that he be allowed to edit, albeit under strictly controlled conditions. Not the most popular idea I've ever run up the flagpole. At least he's very predictible in his naming conventions, so when he does create a sock, it jumps off of the page. Sorry about my assumption back on the AIV. Thanks for the help! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 21:55, 8 July 2008 (UTC)

(Regardless, I have refactored my comments and the header to correct the perceived insult.) Please reconsider your approach and attitude. Behavior like the diff above and your reply will earn editors warnings and blocks on a normal basis. As an administrator, a higher standard is generally expected of you. Are you kidding me that you think this will earn me a "warning and block"? Go do something useful, Vassyana. And thanks for the recommendation to take a break, I think I'll completely ignore it. Tan | 39 04:34, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, people are blocked for actions like that. If you persist down this path, you can be assured that some administrator will add an entry to your block log. The pretentiousness and bureaucracy on this site is amazing - people are so focused on the rules and regulations that they lose sight of the project. What did Vassyana think he was accomplishing there? Did he really expect me to cower in the corner to his firm "No"? - Yeah, that's okay. In any dispute like this, whoever is on the losing end usually ends up sending me a message :-) It's only for a few days, and hopefully you all can work it out in the meantime. Tan | 39 19:13, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I've been on the winning side. Consensus on the Talk Page for the article has long been established to not include what this 1 user is fanatically trying to add (this is his 3rd sock puppet). Dp76764 (talk) 19:16, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if you think there's sockpuppeting and such going on, perhaps take it to ANI in the meantime? If there's a resolution and a corresponding block, then of course it could be unprotected early. As it was, there was an obvious ongoing edit war that needed to be stopped one way or the other; I'm sure you understand that. Tan | 39 19:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Of course! =) Here's the SP case, if you'd like some entertaining reading Misplaced Pages:Suspected sock puppets/Davesmith33. The most recent sock has now been blocked, thankfully. Would just be nice to have his vandalism out of the article while it's locked. Dp76764 (talk) 19:27, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- I just wanted to add that User:Mystic meg is bleeding love (who did the last edit), doesn't use huggle, he is only writing it in his edit summary, maybe to give the impression that he is an established editor. (I was wondering why an editor with such an edit history could be able to use huggle, until I noticed that huggle was written with and without capital, and also the comments added made it strange).Cst17 (talk) 19:29, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Hi Tanthalas, just a heads up that the IP in question is banned user PIO. I'm afraid that constructive editing is out of the question. However, a 12-hour block is an effective tool to end the silliness in the last hour or so. Speedy deletion of NRW.INVEST
Dear Tan,
unfortunately you've just "speed deleted" my article on NRW.INVEST, which is the Economic Development Agency of the German State North-Rhine Westfalia. And unfortunately I'm not too good in composing Haikus, therefore I'll try my best in "prose" to convince you of "undeleting" the NRW.INVEST article.
Like similar institutions, i.e. "Invest in America" or "Invest in Northern Ireland", which are respectively listed on Misplaced Pages, NRW.INVEST is a noncommercial service organisation. It is owned by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Like "Invest in America" it promotes its country as business location.
As a governmental institution NRW.INVEST has been practising its work for more than 30 years. NRW is a very popular investment location for foreign investments in Germany and setting up a business in a foreign country is usually a rather complex matter. Thus it is certainly beneficial to know where to turn to for information and services and help in all practical matters.
Is there anything we can do about the deletion? Would it help to include some more references on FDI in NRW? Or should there be more practical examples of NRW.INVEST's work? I've compared them to the other "Invest in..." articles on Misplaced Pages and found they were rather less informative than what I've written on NRW.INVEST.
I'm looking forward hearing from you.
