William Ruto is the former minister of home affairs of Kenya. He is Secretary General of the Kenya African National Union, the former ruling political party. He is MP for Eldoret North constituency. He became minister of home affairs in August 2002 and lost the post in January 2003 after KANU lost power.He is currently the secretary of KANU and is seen as a fast emerging powerful Kalenjin politician in kenya's political arena.
