Re this situation at template {{Controversial}}: Please assume good faith, at least in situations such as this where most other editors would, I think, see no evidence of bad faith; at least, I see none.
If you wish to edit a template such as Controversial, which is transcluded in over 1500 talk pages, please follow these steps:
- Post a message on the template talk page describing and quoting exactly the changes you propose;
- In the case of template Controversial, also post a messages on the talk pages of any articles you're involved in editing which have that template on their talk page.
