RationalWiki is a wiki website that features content which is critical of and satires Conservapedia, its founder Andrew Schlafly, and its administrators, as well as satirical articles on subjects related to Conservapedia's Conservative Christian viewpoint such as young earth creationism. The site's purpose as stated on its home page is:
1. Analyzing and refuting the anti-science movement.
2. Analyzing and refuting crank ideas.
3. Explorations of authoritarianism and fundamentalism.
History
RationalWiki was founded in 2007 by Peter Lipson, a doctor of internal medicine in response to his account on Conservapedia being blocked as a result of him attempting to include evidence in Conservapedia's breast cancer article against Conservapedia's statement linking abortion as a major cause of the disease (a statement which is based on selective evidence but goes against scientific consensus).
