Genetics and dogs
A very cool article about how dogs are related and it's not always what we think, based on research done by the geneticist who started the Canine Genome Project: Genetics and the Shape of Dogs; Studying the new sequence of the canine genome shows how tiny genetic changes can create enormous variation within a single species in 'The American Scientist', http://www.americanscientist.org. With a chart.
Tuscany Dog Project
A current research project involving packs of semi-feral dogs running around in a park in Italy. Can't find much in English about it. http://de.wikipedia.org/Tuscany_Dog_Project on German Misplaced Pages. It would be interesting to know what they are finding out about dog behaviour when the dogs aren't referencing humans... but does it matter?
