Welcome!
Welcome to Misplaced Pages, Ad.minster! I am Elipongo and have been editing Misplaced Pages for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Misplaced Pages! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- Introduction
- The five pillars of Misplaced Pages
- How to edit a page

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. Username
Hello,
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Misplaced Pages's username policy for the following reason: Your username contains the word "admin" which is prohibited by the username policy.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Misplaced Pages:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. –xeno (talk) 19:12, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- It has already been approved. It has been this way for years. Best wishes! Adminster (talk) 19:24, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- It wasn't quite approved, it was simply not actioned. I've opened a new RFCN here: Misplaced Pages:Requests for comment/User names#Adminster, where your participation is encouraged. –xeno (talk) 19:33, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- At the RFCN I suggested Addminster (talk · contribs) as a suggested compromise. Everyone else believes this is a simple way to solve the issue with possible misunderstandings with the name. So, is this an acceptable name to you? Please respond at the RFCN. Cheers! lifebaka++ 23:08, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Cut & paste move
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Misplaced Pages. It appears that you recently tried to give Local church body a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Local church. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Misplaced Pages has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Misplaced Pages:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 07:26, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Anonymity is a cloak?
Statements like this are nothing more than an opinion, not a referenceable fact.Ryoung122 12:59, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- Isn't that what anonymity means? Ad.minster (talk) 19:40, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
- "Cloak" is a pejorative term used to mean that someone has something to hide. Actually, the local churches are NOT "anonymous." They argue that they have no name because there is no name given in the Bible other than "churches," and to follow the Biblical teaching means to use the Biblical term. In other words, there is no "Presbyterian church" in the Bible, but there is a "Church in Ephesus" in the Bible---a geographic term (a division of locality), not a political term (a division of personality or worldview, such as "I of Apollos"). Understanding this mindset, then, not taking a name has nothing to do with anonymity. The "Church in Atlanta" has a sign out front that says "Church in Atlanta." Anyone driving by can see the sign, and know what is there.Ryoung122 08:31, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Local Church and Controversies
As it seems that the Local churches (affiliation) article seems to have some questionable references, the controversies article has absolutely none of note. There are plenty of references and external links at the bottom of the page (enough that most should probably be deleted), but the article itself does not include any direct references to anything. If you would like to help improve the page, please do not continue the trend of adding uncited information, especially those section lead sentences that really don't seem to serve any purpose other than to raise the ire of those editing persons that are members of the local churches. Were you to possibly add citations and then add those summarizing statements (still with citations), that would be acceptable. However as it is you seem to clearly violate WP:NPOV as much as any of the others, as wikipedia's goal is to only present "views that have been published by reliable sources."
Also, please see my comments on Talk:Local churches (affiliation) with regards to your mass edits. If you make one type of edit at a time, it will be much easier for you and those who seem dead set against you to come to an agreeable median rather than constantly edit warring over everything at once.
Thanks! KhalfaniKhaldun 21:54, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
