Seth Putnam (born May 15, 1968) is the founder of the grindcore/noisecore band Anal Cunt. He is also well-known for his side projects Angry Hate, Impaled Northern Moonforest, and You're Fired, among others.
Putnam is from Boston, Massachusetts and is of Irish descent.
In 1996, Putnam had a falling out with Six Feet Under frontman and ex-Cannibal Corpse vocalist, Chris Barnes, after an alleged fight between him and some of Barnes' roadies at a concert. Since then, Putnam has repeatedly challenged Barnes to a one-on-one fight, going as far as writing a song about how "Chris Barnes is a pussy." Barnes has yet to respond to this offer. Putnam also had a falling out with Hatebreed. The fight began after Hatebreed were told to go on before Anal Cunt and this angered many Anal Cunt fans. In October 2004, Seth Putnam had a seizure and fell into a coma for two months due to a heroin overdose. He was unable to reveal this information due to pending charges of drug use, which were recently dropped. His doctors, thinking he was going to be a vegetable for the rest of his life, were ready to pull the plug before he woke up. He is currently in rehabilitation.
Seth Putnam guested on Pantera's The Great Southern Trendkill. Phil Anselmo is allegedly a big fan of Anal Cunt.
Seth also takes time out to reply to his fans emails, unlike alot of other known bands.
