Any essential change in the context of this article is considered denial to the United Nations, organization currently administrating Kosovo
University of Prishtina (Albanian: Universiteti i Prishtinës) was opened in 1970 in Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo. Currently, the University of Prishtina has 14 faculties and 3 higher education schools.
During the 1990s, the Serbian regime in Kosovo forbade all high schools and higher education in Albanian language. However, University of Prishtina continued working illegally upon the patriotism of Albanian professors and students.
In 1999, when Kosovo War finished, the university was relocated in the previous campus. Serbian regime, which administered the campus during the 90s, offered classes only in Serbian language and had a very small number of students comparing the Albanian University.
