Troy Southgate is a English politicial activist. He was born in Crystal Palace, south-east London, and joined the British National Front in 1983-4. Southgate was sentenced to 18 months in Lewes Prison for a violent offence against a women.

In the late-1980s he was a Sussex Regional Organiser for the organisation, before leaving to join the newly-formed International Third Position in 1989. After the ITP evolved into a neo-fascist organisation and went on to trick some of its members into losing their personal savings in an abortive farm project in northern France, Southgate formed the English Nationalist Movement in September 1992 and took most of the ITP membership with him. In the early- to mid-1990s the ENM promoted economic distributism, workers' co-operatives and the work of patriotic socialists like Otto Strasser, Robert Owen, William Morris and Robert Blatchford.

By 1998 the ENM had changed its name to the National Revolutionary Faction and became a militant group with an underground cell-structure, having strong branches in Yorkshire and the south-east. At the same time, Southgate was becoming influenced by the ideas of the British anarchist, Richard Hunt, who was the founder of both Green Anarchist and Alternative Green. As a result, Southgate became an anarchist himself, although he remains a racial separatist and prefers to call his version National-Anarchism. Whilst the NRF no longer exists, at least officially, Southgate continues to promote National anarchism and has since been involved with the establishment of the British New Right along with his close associate Jonothon Boulter. Regular meetings are held in London, attracting speakers like Aleksandr Dugin, the Russian eurasianist, and Jonathan Bowden, a Revolutionary Conservative with an interest in Nietzsche and Ernst Junger.

In addition to his being mentioned in books by Professor Roger Griffin, Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke and Alan Sykes, Southgate's ideas have been published by The Rising Press, Oxford University Press, Macmillan and Arnold Press. He is also involved in the mainly-Dutch neo-Classical group, HERR, and has recorded with Sweden's Survival Unit.
