The Dhulbahante Somalis who reside in Buuhoodle are mainly from the Ahmed Graad subclan, such as Reer Hager, Ali Gari, Waise Adan, Samakaab Ahmed, Igal Naaleeye, Araale Mahad, and Farah Adan Buhood. Other subclans residing in the town include the Barkad, Khaalid, Yaxye, Mohamed Muuse, and the Hayaag. People in Buuhodle largely belong to the baharsame subclan of the Dhulbahante clan. The baharsame Sub-clan who reside in Buuhoodle are mainly business men who have built this city from dust. baharsame clan have built lots of cities around northern somalia they have been to be good business men since civil war started majority of them went back to their regions sool and cayn.

Buhoodle or Buuhoodle is the capital of the Ayn province of Somalia. It has a population of 60,000 inhabitants.

Bulhoodle is located on the border between Somalia and Ethiopia. It is serves as a commercial hub for the movement of goods to and from Bosaso, Garoowe, Las Anod, Galcayo, Wardheer, Burco, the surrounding area, and Ethiopia. The city is rich in livestock. It also has modern communication systems such as cell phones, land-line phones, as well as internet services. The city has a new hospital along with modern hotels.
