Timmy Time is a programme made by Aardman Animations. It started broadcasting on CBeebies on April 6, 2009 at 9.00am every weekday. The show is a spin off from the Shaun the Sheep animation, which introduced the Timmy character. The show's first series will run for 26 episodes.
Premise and format
Timmy is Shaun's cousin who lives in the farm next door. In this series, Timmy and his friends have to learn to share, make friends and own up to mistakes. They are supervised by the teachers, Harriet the Mother Stork and Osbourne the Father Owl. The show is aimed at pre-school aged children, which the company described as "a natural step for Aardman".
The show is made up of ten minute episodes, which do not feature any dialogue, much like Shaun the Sheep.
Characters
- Harriet the Stork who speaks through caws and clicks, and Osbourne the Owl who hoots are the teachers of the class.
- Timmy the Sheep who says Baa!, the titular character who enjoys being in the spotlight.
- Yabba the Duck who says Quack Quack, very similar to and friendly with Timmy.
- Paxton the Pig who says Oink, characterised by his appetite for food and weight.
- Mittens the Cat who says Mee-yew.
- Ruffy the Dog who says Ruff Ruff, who is energetic but can be mentally rather slow.
- Apricot the Hedgehog who says Hicoo, she is very quiet and skittish.
- Stripey the Badger who says Honk, lazy and slow.
- Kid the Goat who says Maah!, like Paxton he has a large appetite but will eat anything in sight.
- Otus the Owl who says Twit-Twoo or Hoo!, apparently son of Osbourne, he enjoys helping and emulating his father.
- Finlay the Fox, who says Yip Yap!, he is excitable and full of energy.
- Caterpillar who is not part of the class but has many background appearances in the show.
