Frot is a colloquial term for male-male genital sex. Male partners (who may be of any sexual orientation) engage penis-penis rubbing until mutual orgasm, typically while kissing. Various sexual positions for frot are possible.
Advocates emphasize male-male genital sex is more erotic than oral sex or anal sex. Anatomically, frot is more pleasurable by mutually stimulating eachother's most sensitive area of the penis - the frenulum nerve bundle under the glans. It is also more intimate by facing eachother, more egalitarian by sharing symmetric positions, and more masculine by emphasizing eachother's phallus.
Moreover, frot is many-times safer against the risk of a sexually transmitted infection than oral sex or anal sex. Likewise, male-male genital sex is safer than male-female genital sex.
Terminology for male-male genital sex
Etymology
The term frot derives directly from the French term frottage meaning "rubbing" under the influence of, but not with the same meaning as, the psychological term frotteurism, also known as frottage.
Slang
Slang terms for frot include "phrot", "swordfighting", "cockrub", "manrub", "penis fencing", "bumping dicks", "frication", "wrestling", "cock knocking", "cock2cock", "frontism", and so on. Also "the Princeton rub", "the Ivy League rub", "Oxford style", and so on, from the days when these college students were male only.
"Docking" is a variant of frot that masturbates both penises with the foreskin of one penis over the exposed glans of the other penis. It is somewhat more vulnerable to an STI because the urethra and the inner lining of the foreskin comes into contact with the partner's semen.
