Tarni Stephens (born April 3, 1978) was a contestant on the third season of Australian Idol in 2005. She was eliminated first, on September 12, 2005 along with fellow Top 13 contestant Chris Luder.

Tarni auditioned in Sydney. She was known for her rock style of music. She was also the lead singer in her band, before auditioning on Idol.
