Samuel Sevian is an American chess player.

Born Dec. 26, 2000, in New York, Samuel Sevian is believed to be the youngest chess player to attain an expert's level rating (2001). He accomplished the feat in February, at 8 years, 2 months.

Samuel learned to play chess at age 5 and earned a modest rating of 315 from his first tournament in August 2006, when he lived in Florida. By the time his family moved to California 2 year ago, 7 years old, his rating had risen to 1614, higher than most adults.

Samuel Sevian earned a spot on the 2010 All-America Chess Team.
