Malta is a town located in Saratoga County, New York, USA. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 13,005.
The Town of Malta is in the southeast part of the county and is mostly south of Saratoga Springs, New York.
History
The town was created in 1802 from part of the Town of Stillwater.
Geography
Interstate 87, The Northway, and US Route 9 pass up the west side of the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 81.2 km² (31.4 mi²). 72.6 km² (28.0 mi²) of it is land and 8.7 km² (3.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.71% water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 13,005 people, 5,295 households, and 3,537 families residing in the town. The population density was 179.2/km² (464.2/mi²). There were 5,754 housing units at an average density of 79.3/km² (205.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 96.24% White, 1.08% African American, 0.28% Native American, 1.05% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.52% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. 1.45% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

- Riley Cove -- A hamlet on the shore of Saratoga Lake south of Manning Cove.
- Round Lake -- A lake in the west part of the town was called "Tanendahowa" by the early natives of the area.
- Round Lake -- The Village of Round Lake is on the west side of Round Lake, southwest of Malta village.
- Saratoga Lake -- A lake by the northeast part of the town.
- Saratoga Spa State Park -- A state park located southwest of Saratoga Springs.
