Julian Perretta (born January 13, 1989) is a British singer-songwriter.

Early life

Perretta was born in London to an Italian father and Irish mother. Perretta left a private school in St Albans, at 16 having auditioned successfully for a place at the drama centre, RADA, Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, studying Shakespeare intending to pursue a career as an actor.

Music career

In 2008, Sony Music signed the singer. Perretta went onto sign a publishing agreement as a songwriter, with Universal Music Publishing Group. In May 2008, he joined producer Mark Ronson on a 12 date European Tour, singing the Smiths hit, 'Stop Me'. Perretta gained a large internet following from notable blogging websites. His myspace page seeing in excess of a two million views in three months.

The track Wonder Why saw a huge upsurge in plays and popularity on social networking sites such as myspace, taking over 1.7 million plays itself. "Wonder Why" debuted on the Radio 1 Switch Show, July 19, on which Perez Hilton called the singers album as "The best album of the year." The album has yet to be released in the UK.

Following growing media and press interest, He announced his first ever American tour dates in August 2009, playing in Portland, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles. A tour has been planned for 2010.

The singer has 6 tattoos, on his shoulder and forearms.

In November 2009, Beyonce invited Perretta to be special guest on her "I Am" UK Arena Tour.

A debut album is expected for release in America in 2010.

Perretta is managed by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment management company.

Personal Life

Perretta currently lives in North Hollywood, California with his dog Milli Vanillipooch and a partial bag of Funyons.
