Donald Brashear (born January 7, 1972 in Bedford, Indiana, USA) is an American professional hockey forward who currently plays for the National Hockey League's Philadelphia Flyers.
Playing Career
The Montreal Canadiens signed him as a free agent in 1992. He has played for the Flyers, the Canadiens, and the Vancouver Canucks.
During the February 21, 2000 Vancouver-Boston game, when Brashear played for Vancouver, Boston enforcer Marty McSorley struck Brashear in the side of his head with his stick. Brashear fell to ice, his head bounced, and his unsecured helmet flew off. He was knocked unconscious due to grade 3 concussion.
Brashear returned the next season and had a career year in production to that point.
